Sala dei Marini

The room is dedicated to the memory of two Santarcangelo archaeologists, who lived between the seventeenth and the nineteenth centuries, Monsignor Gaetano Marini, who was also archivist of the Vatican, and his nephew, Monsignor Marino. Gaetano, known locally as Lele, is also the name of the last descendant of the house. He is remembered as a great actor (he was a nephew on his mother’s side of the great actress Teresa Franchini), having a great skill in the game of billiards and the lack of attention that he placed on money.
