Gianciotto – Sangiovese d.o.c. Superiore in purezza, 2011

PRODUCTION AREA
Montebello Torriana, once also called the land of Scorticata. The soil is calcareous in the badlands clay with veins of gypsum, facing south-east. Plants are spurred cordons.
VINES
100% Sangiovese, vintage 2011, 13.5%, density of 6,500 vines per hectare with a yield of 70 quintals per hectare. The collection and selection of grapes is manual, with thinning in the vineyard and soft pressing. The fermentation takes place in steel tanks with constant temperature control. Ageing 50% in oak barrels of 50 hl and 50% in barriques (barrrels).

SAIANO Rubicone rosso, i.g.t. 2010
PRODUCTION AREA
Montebello Torriana, with calcareous soil, in the badlands clay with veins of gypsum. Part of the vines are immersed in a nature reserve where the land gives aromas of violets and berries. Plants are spurred cordons.
VINES
Sangiovese 80%, Merlot 15%, Cabernet Sauvignon 5%, density of 6,500 vines per hectare with a yield of 70 quintals per hectare. The collection and selection of grapes is manual, with thinning in the vineyard and soft pressing. Fermentation takes place in conical oak vats. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and 10 months in bottles.
